Vilnius International French Lyceum Participates in JR’s Inside Out Project

The Vilnius International French Lyceum is proud to join the Inside Out project for the second time. This initiative, led by renowned French street artist JR, leverages the power of street art to amplify community voices and convey meaningful messages.

This year’s project focuses on human relationships with ecology. On September 11, 2024, 73 large-format portraits of our students and staff were showcased in Vilnius’s historic city center, specifically in the LIFV courtyard. Each portrait features a message related to ecological actions, inspired by the contemporary artist Gillian Wearing. The goal is to emphasize the connection between individual actions and their environmental impact.

JR, celebrated for his large-scale public art installations at iconic locations such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Louvre, continues to use his art to drive social change. Since its launch in 2021, the Inside Out project has spurred over 2,000 community-driven actions addressing themes like feminism, climate change, and human rights.

This exhibition, in keeping with JR’s ephemeral art style, will be a temporary display. We invite everyone to visit and engage with this impactful exploration of ecological issues.
