Solidarity, Citizenship and Student Participation
The school promotes civic engagement through a variety of solidarity and community initiatives, including:
- the annual Kaziukas Fair, where students create and sell handmade products, with proceeds donated to local charities or used to support educational projects;
- Christmas gift collections for disadvantaged families;
- a student financial aid fund and reduced tuition fees for Ukrainian students;
- active student participation in school governance through the Student Council (CVL/CVC), the Student Association (MDL), the CESCE committee, and class councils;
- training for student representatives and Eco-Delegates.
Health, Well-being and a Positive School Climate
Student well-being is a central priority, supported by a comprehensive programme that includes:
- the PHARE anti-bullying programme;
- the presence of a school nurse and school psychologist;
- annual school climate surveys;
- the ADOLE programme, which helps students develop attention skills and psychosocial competencies;
- workshops on sleep, stress management, self-esteem and emotional well-being;
- prevention of addictive behaviours;
- comprehensive Relationships, Emotional and Sexuality Education (RSE).
Inclusion, Equality and Diversity
LIFV promotes an inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed through:
- support for non-French-speaking students via the French as a Foreign Language (FLE) programme;
- personalised academic support and homework assistance;
- transition programmes for newly enrolled students;
- classroom projects addressing disability, diversity, body positivity and inclusion;
- learning activities exploring gender stereotypes and the role of women in science, sport and society;
- artistic and educational projects promoting self-confidence, respect and gender equality.
Sustainable Development and Environmental Education
Environmental responsibility is embedded across the curriculum and school life through initiatives such as:
- the LIFV School Garden and the kindergarten garden;
- a mushroom-growing project managed by Eco-Delegates;
- paper, battery and school supply recycling schemes;
- the elimination of single-use tableware in the school cafeteria;
- the promotion of locally sourced food;
- awareness campaigns on waste sorting, water conservation, energy saving and eco-friendly habits;
- projects focusing on climate change, biodiversity, renewable energy and carbon footprint reduction;
- the gradual greening of the school campus.
Student Life and Community Engagement
Students play an active role in shaping school life through:
- community events such as the Winter Dance, No-Bag Day, Sleep Over, Mathematics Week and the daily 10 Minutes of Reading;
- the creation of welcoming social spaces such as the High School Café;
- participation in the school sports association;
- projects led by the Student Council (CVL) and the Student Association (MDL);
- the development of a future alumni association.
