Sensory Games: How Our Little Ones Learn at LIFV

This year at LIFV Šile school, we are implementing a sensory games project. Sensory games are an important part of our education, promoting curiosity, learning, and the ability of young children to discover the world through their senses. They learn through the experience they gain by touching, seeing, hearing, tasting, or smelling. Through sensory activities, children develop language, motor, and cognitive skills, encourage communication, and adapt to how others play. This promotes their physical, emotional, and social development.

Each period, we offer children the chance to explore the contents of different sensory boxes.

In the first period, there were two different sensory boxes: a box with colored rice and small tools (shovels, scoops, buckets) and a sensory box with an autumn theme, containing chestnuts, acorns, pinecones, autumn leaves, and wooden mushrooms.

In the second period, we introduced a box with colorful pom-poms, feathers, and various tools (tweezers and different pincers) along with a sensory box containing rice and various figurines with a Christmas theme.
