At LIFV, gender equality is an important part of school life and educational projects throughout the year. Through cultural, educational, and civic initiatives, students are encouraged to reflect on respect, stereotypes, and women’s place in society.
Challenging Stereotypes from an Early Age
In kindergarten, a non-gendered costume area was created to allow children to express themselves freely, without gender stereotypes.
Raising Awareness About Equality
During the careers forum, special attention was given to women in science in order to encourage girls to explore scientific and technical fields.
Secondary school students also took part in activities based on the short-film series Paroles de femmes (Women’s Voices), leading to discussions about women’s rights, discrimination, and equality.
Senior students led workshops on stereotypes for younger pupils, encouraging dialogue and reflection from an early age. Debates were also organized around violence against women and ways to fight inequality.
Women in Culture and Music
The school also highlights women in the arts and music through meetings with female artists. In 2025, students met DJ Romane Santarelli, and in 2026 they will meet French artist PR2B to discuss women’s representation in the music industry.
Through these initiatives, the French Lycée of Vilnius promotes equality, respect, and openness as essential values for future citizens.
