Dear parents,
Lice like clean children’s hair and settle in comfortably and very quickly.
Lice bites can cause wounds on the forehead and scalp, which are called pediculosis.
Signs of pediculosis :
- Presence of lice (tiny black insect) or nits (grey/white lice eggs), on the scalp and/or hair roots;
- Redness with slight bleeding of the skin at the site of the bite;
- Intense and repeated itching, especially at night.
What you can do to get rid of lice :
- Inspect your child’s scalp regularly with a fine-toothed comb before going to school;
- Check your child’s personal belongings (clothes, bag, pillowcase, etc.) from time to time;
- Tie up long hair regularly;
- Do not exchange hairbrushes, hats and/or scarves.
If lice or nits are present :
- Use a hairbrush and a special fine comb;
- Treat your child’s scalp with anti-lice products. In this case, please ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice;
- Use disposable gloves to treat the scalp.
