Support plans for pupils with special needs

All children may experience temporary, recurrent or permanent difficulties during their schooling. They may also find themselves in a situation of disability.

In accordance with French laws, the school must be able to accommodate all students and adapt to their particular needs: “All children share the capacity to learn and progress”.

Like all the other schools in the AEFE network, LIFV is very committed to taking into account the special needs of children. There are several support mechanisms to help students achieve success. They are designated by sometimes complicated acronyms: PPRE, PAI, PAP, PPS.

To help families understand what they are all about, we propose to detail what each scheme contains and for whom it is intended.

The entire LIFV team is at your disposal for any further information.

Individualized Welcome Project (PAI : Projet d’Accueil Individualisé)

WHO IS IT FOR?

It concerns pupils with chronic illnesses (e.g. asthma), allergies and food intolerances. It allows them to follow a normal schooling.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The PAI is drawn up by the school doctor or the school nurser, then signed by the headmaster and the family

WHY IS IT NECESSARY?

It makes it easier for the child or adolescent affected by the sickness to attend school.

Personalized Education Project (PPS : Projet personnalisé de Scolarisation)

WHO IS IT FOR?

It concerns all children whose situation meets the definition of disability.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The aim of the PPS is to monitor and support a pupil with a recognized disability throughout their education. This is done by a monitoring team appointed by the Lyceum.

WHY IS IT NECESSARY?

The PPS identifies the successive measures and pedagogical adjustments necessary to enable the pupil to learn in the best possible conditions.

Personalized Assistance Project (PAP : Plan d’Accompagnement Personnalisé)

WHAT IS IT FOR?

It concerns any pupil with long-lasting academic difficulties.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It is a standardized document that defines the educational adaptations and accommodations that the student benefits from.

WHY DOES IT APPLY?

It is a project for the application of pedagogical tools and content only.

Personalized Program for Educational Success (LE PPRE / Programme personnalisé de réussite Educative)

WHO IS IT FOR?

It concerns pupils who are at risk of not mastering certain knowledge and skills expected at the end of an educational cycle.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The PPRE organises targeted actions on specific skills, on the proposal of the teaching teams who have previously established a precise and personalized evaluation of the pupil’s needs.

WHY?

The PPRE organises differentiated pedagogical support for the pupil throughout the cycle to enable him/her to overcome the difficulties encountered and to progress in his/her learning.
