Center of Knowledge and Culture (CCC)

A few words from the documentalist

At the heart of our lyceum is the library, the Center of Knowledge and Culture (CCC). Middle school and high school pupils go there regularly to read a book or do a research work. Pupils enjoy spending time reading comics, discovering new books or immersing themselves in different documentaries. Our essential mission is to make the children familiar with French language through speech and writing. Pupils can also borrow books and take them home.

Here are the rules for borrowing which are signed by the parents at the beginning of the school year:

Books can be borrowed for 2 weeks (except for mandatory readings), the library sets this loan period. The reader can have a loan extended once by going to the library (CCC) which is open from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

If the delay is more than two weeks, the child will receive a reminder in the home-school liaison notebook. Then, parents undertake to follow up on this reminder in the upcoming week. If the book is not returned after a week, it is considered lost. Parents will receive an invoice (book price at purchase and shipping cost). Borrowed documents must be returned in the condition in which they were loaned.
Middle school pupils can borrow 4 books at a time; high school pupils can borrow 6 books at a time.

Our library is accessible by connecting on the site:

https://v2.hiboutheque.fr/mediatheques/372-lycee-international-francais-de-vilnius/

This software grants access to our library to everyone! To access it, you need a password that I give to every pupil and teacher. On this website, you have access to our entire library. You can see which books are available, which ones your child borrowed and do thematic research.
Hiboutheque.fr makes our library an interactive place, a place of discovery, instruction and a place of wonder.

A literary café is held twice a week for middle schoolers at the CCC. We know that children love the library and feel good there. Our mission is to make it a place of creativity, discovery, and learning.

Thank you all for helping us making this place a living place!
